In the past, this house not only served as a residence but also as a boarding house for students and a discussion center for the national movement. Some figures who lived, studied, or had discussions here include Soekarno, Semaoen, Alimin, Darsono, and Tan Malaka. Because of its role in shaping the thoughts of national figures, this house is often called the ‘house of the movement’.
